Cielo Wind Power to Invest in Clarendon College Pampa Center Wind Technology Program

(Amarillo, TX) January 24, 2012 Cielo Wind Services, Inc. (Cielo) in cooperation with the Pampa Energy Center (PEC) and the Pampa Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) are pleased to announce a $75,000 grant to the Clarendon College Pampa Center (CCPC) Wind Energy Technology Training Program. The program offers a Certificate of Completion and a Wind Energy Technology Associate of Applied Science degree. In addition to the grant funds, Cielo will donate a demonstrative Meteorological (MET) Tower to the Pampa Center. The new tower will allow students to monitor real time wind data with equipment currently owned by the college.

Ray Jaramillo, the Vice President of CCPC stated, “Our Wind Energy program has been approved by the Texas Skill Standards Board (TSSB), which is a state recognized certificate by the State of Texas. We are very grateful for the partnership that has been created with Pampa EDC, PEC, and Cielo. This is a nice addition to our program.”

Commenting on the Cielo grant, Ken May, President of Pampa Energy Center, LLC said “Cielo is a true success story for wind energy development projects across the Texas panhandle. Cielo will be a key partner in the further development of wind technology education at Clarendon College Pampa Center. Their $75,000 grant and tower investment is an extremely valuable resource to the development of highly skilled technicians as the wind energy industry grows in the Pampa area.”
